Lost boys? Secondary education and crime

چکیده

We study the effect of secondary education on criminal behavior young men in Finland. exploit admission cut-offs over-subscribed programs and estimate gaining access to a) any school vs no access, b) general vocational school, c) selective less school. Our results show that has a sizeable negative propensity commit crime. There are effects at other two margins. The extensive margin largest years following result reduction probability ever committing crime rather than simply delaying onset suggest keeping youth critical age last beyond where enrollment observed.
